The Duke of Sussex failed to tell Buckingham Palace about his trip to Canada to meet veterans, according to reports.
Former British Army captain Prince Harry was all smiles as he watched them taking part in activities in Toronto on November 7.
The 41-year-old, who undertook two frontline tours to Afghanistan, spoke in an essay about serving alongside men and women from all four corners of the UK.
In advance, the royal’s office said “the Palace” had been informed “as a courtesy”.
However, the Times says it appears no one received the memo, leading to questions as to whether it was ever sent.

One source said it had been “a bit rum” when nobody at either Buckingham or Kensington palaces accepted having notice of the trip before it was released to the press.
As working royals including King Charles prepared for Sunday’s national service of remembrance at the Cenotaph on Whitehall, pictures emerged of Harry and wife Meghan Markle partying with the Kardashians.
Wearing a black tuxedo and a red poppy, the duke was pictured arriving at Kris Jenner’s James Bond-themed 70th birthday party, hosted by Jeff Bezos at his Los Angeles mansion.
Images later appeared online of the couple posing with Jenner, including one of Harry looking a little bleary-eyed.
Jenner and her daughter Kim Kardashian, who had posted the social media pictures, deleted them soon afterwards.
The guidance that Palace officials had been informed appeared to give the trip a royal seal of approval.
