Buckeye baseball team takes down Seton Hall again

The Ohio State baseball team took care of business again against the Seton Hall Pirates, winning 6-0 in the second game of the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida.

The Buckeyes didn’t need much offense today because freshman right-hander Garrett Burhenn pitched a gem in his first ever appearance in the scarlet and gray. The Indianapolis native almost went the distance, pitching eight innings of one-hit, scoreless baseball before handing it over to Andrew Magno to finish things off.

The Buckeyes gave Burhenn a lead immediately on a first inning sacrifice fly by Connor Pohl, then extended the lead in the sixth thanks to a solo home run by Brady Cherry. Noah West also launched a two-run home run in the eighth inning as Ohio State cruised.

The Buckeyes will wrap up the three-game set tomorrow at Noon against Seton Hall once again. According to Ohio State’s website, a win would mark the third time Ohio State has gone undefeated in the early season tournament (2015 and 2017).
