Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has made no indication to general manager Jason Licht about how long they’ll be working together. Brady’s public statement on retirement has been that he’ll play until he’s at least 45 years old. At that point, he’ll probably evaluate from year to year.
So with Brady and the Bucs negotiating a new deal this offseason to help alleviate some salary cap constraints, Licht fielded a question about whether the quarterback had made any indication of how much longer he’d play. Licht said he has gotten no such indication, but he left the door open for Brady to play for a long time.
“I told him if he wants to play until he’s 50, and he’s still playing and he feels like he can still play, he can play until he’s 50,” Licht said on Monday during an appearance on the “Rich Eisen Show.”

In Brady’s first year on the Buccaneers, they won the Super Bowl, the quarterback’s seventh championship win. With the team assembling the exact same group of starters, they seem intent upon repeating.
