BTS Skytrain passengers are now entitled to a full refund in the event a train is delayed more than half an hour.
The BTS Skytrain operator has responded positively to a department request for cooperation in ensuring that passengers affected by train service delays receive proper compensation, a source at the Department of Rail Transport revealed on Friday.
The waiting time starts when a passenger passes through a train station ticket barrier which reads his or her pass card, the source said.
The Bangkok Mass Transit System Plc CEO on Friday said the 30-minute delay refund policy has actually been in place for a while.
If a train is delayed for 30 minutes, the money on the pass card won't be deducted.
Single ticket holders can also choose to have a refund or re-use the ticket within 14 days, he said.
