BTS postpone Map of the Soul tour dates in Twickenham and rest of Europe due to coronavirus

BTS have postponed their London concerts, as well as the rest of their European tour dates, in the face of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The South Korean seven-piece were set to play two sold-out nights at Twickenham Stadium on July 3 and 4, as well as shows in Berlin and Barcelona.

Ticket sales had already been suspended amid the uncertainty surrounding coronavirus, but now the plug has been pulled on all the concerts.

BTS’ management company, Big Hit, said in a statement: “Unfortunately, due to ongoing government advisories on mass gatherings, BTS Map of the Soul Tour - Europe has been postponed.

“Our highest priority remains the safety of our artists and fans as well as the global community.

“We ask for your generous understanding that this decision has been made in consideration of the safety and health of everyone involved.”

No indication was given of when these European dates would be rescheduled, but Big Hit did confim that "a completely new" touring plan would be developed "as soon as it becomes clear when the tour can begin."

"This may require considerable time as the Covid-19 situation continues to evolve," the statement added.

This is the latest tour to be derailed during the pandemic, with major music events around the world — from Glastonbury to Coachella — forced in postponement.
