BTS on GMA: K-Pop band take over Good Morning America and fans are going mad for it

BTS, the most in-demand K-Pop group in the world, went live in New York City this morning on Good Morning America.

Their devoted fanbase (who call themselves ARMY) weren't just watching at home. Some camped out at Central Park for a week in advance in cold, rainy weather to score a good spot for the show.

Super fans brought their own camping supplies, including tents, air mattresses and sleeping bags.

BTS is in town to kick of GMA’s 2019 Summer Concert Series with their hit singles "Fire" and recent Halsey collaboration “Boy With Luv”.

Unfortunately, Halsey did not join them for her cameo on "Boy With Luv" because she's been busy promoting her own forthcoming single called "Nightmare."

While they performed, GMA ran ARMY tweets on a news ticker during the broadcast. They included messages such as, "Who allowed them to look this good?" and "This is their world, we're just living in it."

There were even rumors that the fans' cheers were so loud they went above the allowed decibel levels in Central Park, which is an admirable feat.

The group is currently on a major world tour and this was just the start - they're playing at New Jersey's Met Life Stadium on Sunday.

They have a lot to celebrate while on the road. The Korean boy band recently collected their third number one album on the Billboard charts for “Map of the Soul: Persona.” They’re following in the footsteps of other major boy bands that have also had diehard fanbases, such as the Monkees and the Beatles.

"We're all fanboys of the Beatles, of course, I mean, who is not? We just feel so honored to be with the greatest names in the music industry," rapper RM said proudly in an interview before the performance.

This was a win for the ARMY, who were previously were led to believe that their favorite boys would appear on The Voice alongside the Jonas Brothers. However after tuning into the results show last night, the Jonas Brothers and BTS collaboration that the show's Twitter had hinted at never came.
