BT Sport pundits name the three biggest qualities Gareth Bale will add to the Tottenham team

Former Tottenham Hotspur player and manager Glenn Hoddle believes Gareth Bale's return to Spurs will give the Londoners the creative spark that they are so desperately lacking.

Spurs confirmed the return of the Welsh international on Saturday evening after thrashing out a deal with Real Madrid, signing the winger on a season-long loan deal.

Bale's return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will offer him the chance to get his career back on track after a forgettable few months in Madrid after falling out-of-favour under Madrid boss Zinidine Zidane.

Now back at a club where he is adored by everyone, Bale has got to try and get his career back on track and prove himself as the player that Spurs fans know he is.

And for former Spurs star Hoddle, he believes that Bale will prove himself to be that quality player that Spurs fans know he is, tipping him to be the creator that Spurs have so desperately lacked in recent months.

"I could see him playing in a 4-3-3. Eventually Jose might turn them back into a back three," Hoddle told BT Sport ahead of Spurs' clash with Southampton this lunchtime. "I would love to see Son (Heung min) and Bale just in behind Harry Kane.

"I just think he's a wonderful player. He will play slightly different. He'll create a lot. Spurs are missing a real creator.

"At the moment Harry can't get a rest. That will give him a rest. Now you have got some fire power."

Alongside Hoddle on the BT Sport panel was fellow former Spurs man Jermaine Jenas, who is also confident that Bale returning to Spurs is an ideal match for both parties.

"What we do know is that the last couple of years he's not had the opportunities to thrive at Madrid. Being back at Tottenham is what he needed.

"Gareth's most underrated ability is his crossing ability and his passing ability."
