BT Sport pundits have been giving their glowing verdicts over N'Golo Kante's performance in the Champions League final.
Kante was instrumental as Chelsea claimed their second Champions League title, beating Manchester City in the final in Porto thanks to Kai Havertz's winning goal.
Mason Mount sent the German through on goal before he rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home to put the Blues on their way to European glory.
Though, among many impressive displays, it was Kante who stood out for many, dominating the midfield which was lacking Fernandinho and Rodri after Pep Guardiola decided to leave both defensive midfielders out of his Manchester City line-up.
And after the game, Kante, who won man of the match, was praised heavily by BT Sport pundits, with Joe Cole saying: “He’s staggering. I’m shattered just watching him.
"One of my last games, my legs were gone and this lad came on, I looked at him, he’s about four foot tall, and thought to myself: ‘What does this lad do?’ - he changed the game.
"I played with Make (Makelele) who I thought was the best in that position until I saw this kid. He’s got Makelele plus extras.”
Fellow pundit and former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott agreed, saying: "I was at Villa, he came on and changed the game.
"They won 3-2 and that was the year they went onto win the league.
"They’ve had Makelele, Ramires - who was exceptional, but this player. Arguably the best in that position ever to play the game.”
At just £32million, Kante may prove to be one of Chelsea's best signings of recent years, and the Frenchman has now added a Champions League winners' medal to his two Premier Leagues, a Europa League and an FA Cup.
