BT Sport pundit sends Crystal Palace message about how to get the best out of Wilfried Zaha

Former Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman believes that Crystal Palace need to try and get star man Wilfried Zaha directly up against his full-back more often if they are to solve their goal-scoring troubles.

Palace will be looking to end a a seven-game winless run in all competitions when they face Everton at Goodison Park this lunchtime.

The Eagles arrive on Merseyside having lost their last two games without scoring - losing at home to both Southampton and Sheffield United.

That has seen Roy Hodgson's men drop to 14th in the Premier League, six points above the relegation zone.

And as the Eagles look to try and pull clear of any potential danger, BT Sport pundit McManaman insists that they need to try and move the ball quicker and get Zaha running at his full-back in a bid to ease their goal-scoring woes.

McManaman told BT Sport: "They need to move the ball quicker, that’s what they need to do.

"If you can isolate Zaha on one side one-on-one against the right-back, or Townsend on the other side against the left-back, you will invariably get results.

"But they have to do that quicker. You can’t be slow in your movement and getting the ball to these players who can make things happen too late."

So far this season, Zaha has scored three goals and grabbed four assists.
