BT Sport pundit names the Chelsea player who was ‘absolutely magnificent’ against Ajax

Former Manchester United and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves has heaped praise on Christian Pulisic after his impact for Chelsea against Ajax last night (Wednesday).

The American international came off the bench in Amsterdam and made a telling contribution, supplying the pass for Michy Batshuayi to net the winner as the Blues won for a second time in the Champions League this season.

Pulisic was praised by Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard after the game, while plenty of Blues fans called on the boss to start the American in the Premier League clash with Burnley on Saturday, having now provided three assists in his last three appearances for the club.

And Hargreaves has been full of praise for how well he has performed in the last few games, when coming off the bench against Southampton, Newcastle United and now Ajax.

“[Christian] Pulisic is a really good player, technically," he said, speaking on BT Sport's highlights of the Champions League last night.

“He probably hasn’t had the game time he would have liked, but on the weekend he was brilliant and he came on in this game and he was terrific.

“Pulisic was absolutely magnificent. Every time he touched the ball, something really good happened, and that is really good for Frank [Lampard] and he is another asset.

“Obviously [Callum] Hudson-Odoi is another brilliant young player, and they have lots of good assets there, to go with your Pedros and your Willians."
