BT Sport announce Bundesliga decision to delight Leeds United supporters amid Robin Koch links

BT Sport have announced they will show every single remaining Bundesliga fixture this season live.

The top flight of German football returns this weekend - the first top league to do so after football was suspended in March - and this decision will be of interest to Leeds United.

Fans of the Whites will be able to watch rumoured transfer target Robin Koch in action for Freiburg away at RB Leipzig.

Dominic Raab says the government has been discussing restarting sport behind closed doors

Marcelo Bielsa's side have been given a boost in regards to a potential £9m deal this summer with Freiburg manager Christian Streich has been forced to admit that his club might have to cash in on Koch ahead of next season.

"At the moment, I can’t say whether Robin will play for another club next year. No player is not for sale, we can’t afford (to say) that,” he told Sky Sports Germany

"We are a club which rely on transfer proceeds. The most important thing for us is that we are financially healthy."

And fans of the Elland Road can judge whether or not Koch would be a good addition to the United squad - which will be hopeful of playing Premier League football next season - as the remainder of Freiburg's fixtures will be shown live.

"BT Sport, the exclusive broadcaster of Germany’s Bundesliga, today confirms details of its extensive coverage of this weekend’s resumption of the competition," an official statement reads.

"BT Sport will bring viewers nine live Bundesliga matches this coming weekend, across Saturday May 16, Sunday May 17 and Monday May 18. For the remainder of the Bundesliga season, BT Sport will broadcast every match, with at least one match per weekend available in stunning 4K UHD picture quality on BT Sport Ultimate."

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: "It is great news for BT Sport customers that this weekend our customers will be able to watch live football.

"With the Bundesliga set to return on Saturday, we’re looking forward to bringing customers nine live football matches, including six live matches on Saturday afternoon, plus highlights, feature programmes and analysis.

"The return of live Bundesliga joins our continued live UFC and WWE.

"Alongside the live games will be the Bundesliga Goals Show, which will bring viewers all of the action and all of the goals as they happen, from every single Saturday Bundesliga game, live. The first show kicks off on BT Sport Extra 3 from 2.30pm on May 16."
