UPDATE: BT has confirmed that the issue has now been resolved
It's the go-to email service for many Brits, but it appears that BT email went down this morning.
According to DownDetector, the issues started at around 08:48 BST, and affected customers across the UK.
While the reason for the outage remains unclear, of those who reported issues, 66% said they were having problems with internet, 27% with email, and 5% with their phone.
A BT spokesperson said: "Earlier this morning some customers experienced problems using their BT email service. This issue was resolved within a few hours and normal service has been restored quickly. We want to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused.”
Several frustrated users took to Twitter to discuss the outage.
One user said: "BT UK your webmail is down, can't log in. Please sort, your new email service leaves a lot to be desired!"
Another said: "What's up with your webmail - yet again? Haven't been able to log in this morning to my BT Premium Mail which I'm paying for the privilege of having a server that's down more times than it's up?!"
And one added: "BT UK is email down? Saying server error? I use the BT app (which I’m finding is clunky and unreliable at the best of times)."
This isn't the first time that BT has experienced issues in recent months.
In August, the network crashed for users in Edinburgh, following a storm overnight.
