Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday termed Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati an “undeclared spokesperson of the BJP” after the BSP issued a whip to its six MLAs in Rajasthan to vote against the Ashok Gehlot government.
Though the BSP MLAs merged with the Congress in September last, the BSP has contested the merger by stating that the local unit of a national party cannot do it and asked the MLAs to vote against the Gehlot government.
Taking to twitter, Ms Vadra said by issuing such a whip to its MLAs in Rajasthan, the BSP had given a clean chit to those who “murdered” democracy and the Constitution.
“Undeclared spokespersons of the BJP have issued a whip in support of the BJP. But, this is not a whip but a clean chit to those who murder democracy and the Constitution,” Ms Vadra tweeted in Hindi without naming Ms Mayawati.

Ms Vadra had attacked the BSP chief earlier and called the latter an ‘informal spokesperson’ when Ms Mayawati stated that she stood with the Centre on the China issue.
‘Fix law and order’
In a separate letter, Ms Vadra attacked the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh on the “alarming” increase in kidnappings.
She raised the case of Vikram Tyagi, a businessman from Ghaziabad who has been missing for almost a month. His family had alleged that no concrete action had been taken by the police or administration.
“Two days ago, a delegation of our party met the family. They are very worried and upset. They have written in a letter seeking help and strict directive to the police officers to fully assist them”, Ms Vadra stated.
She expressed concern over ‘growing crime and poor law and order’ in the State. “Law and order is deteriorating. At this time, it is the responsibility of the police and administration to take action in such matters with promptness and efficiency. Fix the law and order problem. People are disturbed”, she said.
‘Postpone exams’
In view of the rise in COVID-19 cases, Ms Vadra appealed to Mr. Adityanath to postpone the proposed B.Ed entrance exam, which is scheduled for August 9.
“The UP government is requested that keeping in mind the prevailing circumstances, a rethink should be done over the schedule of the examination”, she said in a Facebook Post.
