BSP is a national party, not A or B team of anyone: BSP chief Mayawati in Basti

GORAKHPUR: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Thursday attacked the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress, saying these parties were spreading rumours about the BSP to mislead people.

"Party like SP and Congress are misleading the SC community. BSP is a national party and it is not an A or B team of anyone. The party follows the principle of Sarvjan Hitae, Sarvjan Shukjae (benefits to all peace and happiness to all). BSP takes all religions, castes and classes with it. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) policies are based on casteism and capitalism and SP takes care of only a special class," Mayawati said at a rally in Basti.

She attacked BJP and called the Congress and SP opportunist parties. "Congress and SP both are opportunist parties and people are facing issues till date due to wrong policies of the Congress. Crime and hatred in religions and castes have increased during the BJP government. Unemployment has increased and government jobs are decreasing and the government is focused on privatization. It has also failed to implement the reservation system."

While enumerating the achievements of his government, she said, "During my government, labourers and the poor got full respect and there was rule of law. We will ensure employment and security if we come to power. No harassment in the name of caste and religion will be made and cases against the innocent will be taken back. Old pension schemes will be applied."

She said in lighter vein that the BSP doesn’t release a manifesto but works while SP and BJP are cashing BSP’s work.

She also claimed that for peace and respect for all religion and class, BSP is needed in the state.
