Bryson DeChambeau said that he set a new personal record for the longest drive of his career during The Match. He also said that he was “disappointed” with the drive.
Oh, Bryson.
The PGA Tour’s closest thing to a designated hitter, DeChambeau teamed up with Aaron Rodgers for a win over Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson in the celebrity golf event for charity. DeChambeau’s power played a big role in helping his team get a win. His 480-yard drive on the 777-yard par-5 eighth hole was absolutely insane.
“That was disappointing for me,” he said, via CBS.com. “I thought I had it, dude. That was super close to being 550 pretty easily.”
Between the steep hill and the altitude at The Reserve at Moonlight Basin in Montana, he did have a special opportunity. But it sure seems like he made the most of it. Here’s a look.
