Bryson DeChambeau crashes out of Memorial Tournament with 10 on 15th hole

COLUMBUS, Ohio _ Bryson DeChambeau's chances at the Memorial Tournament crashed late Friday afternoon when he posted a quintuple-bogey 10 on the 15th hole at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

DeChambeau has been the talk of the golf world with his prodigious drives. He had tee shots 423 and 407 yards in his first round and he said he has even surprised himself with their accuracy.

The driver failed him in the second round on the 558-yard, par-5 15th. He hit his tee shot into the water on the left side and then hit his next two shots out of bounds. DeChambeau asked for a second opinion after the second of those, but a tour official confirmed that the ball, lying under a metal fence, was out of bounds.

DeChambeau then chipped to 29 feet from the pin and two-putted for the quintuple-bogey.

The 10 bumped him from 1 over par and within the cut to 6 over with three holes to play.

Even before the 15th, it had been an erratic round for DeChambeau. He had five birdies that were offset by the same number of bogeys.

DeChambeau has been dominant since the PGA Tour resumed play last month. He hasn't finished worse than tied for eighth in his four tournaments and won the Rocket Mortgage tournament two weeks ago.

He didn't play in the Workday Charity Open last week at Muirfield.
