Bryce Love is his own biggest advocate in the NFL

Sometimes in life, you have to be your own biggest advocate. If you don’t believe in yourself, nobody else will.

For Bryce Love, who the Washington Redskins drafted earlier this year, the most important thing for NFL teams to know going into April was that he would be worth the investment, and he wasn’t afraid to tell them.

According to Redskins.com, Love wrote a detailed letter to NFL general managers in The Players’ Tribune before the draft, informing all why he should be selected. In the letter, he reminded everyone of his career highlights at Stanford, as well as information about his upbringing, and why he ultimately decided to stay in college for his senior season.

“I can’t wait to show you what I can do — who I am — in person,” Love said in the letter. “I’m still the same back you remember from 2017, but now I’m even better. I will be ready to go for 2019 training camp, and I can’t wait to get to work.”

The Redskins ended up drafting Love in the fourth round, which was considered to be a steal since he was the Heisman Trophy runner up just a year prior.

Did the letter to GMs help? Who knows. It definitely didn’t hurt.
