Bryce Love details expected return timetable

The Washington Redskins were widely praised for their selection of Stanford running back Bryce Love in the fourth round of the 2019 draft.

Love’s biggest red flag came in the medical department after he missed most of last season. But he sounds on track to be ready to go over the summer.

“My goal is to be ready by training camp, mid-training camp,” Love said, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “Being able to find a way to compete and do my thing.”

In 2017, Love was a Heisman Trophy contender while rushing for 2,000-plus yards and 19 touchdowns. Teams clearly didn’t want to risk an early pick on his health, but the Redskins won’t complain about adding him to a backfield with Derrius Guice, Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson.

If Love can get back to full strength, he’s another dynamic rotational piece for a deep backfield that might be tasked with carrying along a rookie passer next season.
