Bryce Harper’s wife, Kayla, had the best reaction to his walk-off grand slam

Bryce Harper had a very Bryce Harper moment Thursday in the Philadelphia Phillies’ 7-5 win over the Chicago Cubs. And baseball fans absolutely loved it, including Harper’s wife, Kayla.

On a 2-2 pitch in the bottom of the ninth as the Phillies trailed, 5-3, Harper hit a 413-foot walk-off grand slam to give his team the W and a three-game sweep over the Cubs. Giddy as ever, Harper sprinted around the bases with a gigantic grin on his face before celebrating with his teammates at home plate.

While baseball Twitter was in awe, Kayla Harper had the best reaction to her husband’s game-winning at-bat.

Harper was pretty impressed with himself too after his biggest hit of his first year with Philadelphia. It was the 26-year-old slugger’s only hit of the night, but it was clutch. Via ESPN:

“That was sick. Wow, I don’t even know. I mean, that was awesome. Oh my gosh,” he said.

Harper added of his walk-off shot: “Besides winning the division and getting to the playoffs, that was one of the coolest moments I’ve ever had in my life.”

Unfortunately, Harper said in an immediate post-game interview that he didn’t think his parents saw his grand slam because he saw the lights in his parents’ suite were off. The good news is this highlight will be easy to find on the internet for a while.
