Bryce Harper’s 13-year deal with the Phillies sent the MLB world into a frenzy

Bryce Harper’s seemingly never-ending free agency has finally reached an end. The nightmare is over.

As first reported by MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the All-Star outfielder is signing with the Philadelphia Phillies, making the decision to stay in the NL East after seven seasons with the Nationals.

The pickup is huge for the Phillies, who are already stacked, and they’re paying for it. The contract looks to be worth a record-breaking $330 million, according to USA TODAY Sports. And for 13 years (!!!).

Given the major implications of Harper changing teams and that 13-year commitment, the MLB world had plenty of reaction. Many fans were just happy to see this free agency end already. Others were wowed that anyone could commit to something for 13 years.

There are children out there who will be Bryce Harper’s teammate someday.

Let’s hope Harper likes Philadelphia. He’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
