Bryan Habana steps in on S4C and speaks Welsh after Jamie Roberts disappears to celebrate with Wales team

Bryan Habana was some player in his day and is proving himself to be a man of many talents as a pundit too, turning his hand to Welsh as a stand-in for Jamie Roberts!

With Roberts celebrating with the Wales team after their historic 13-12 victory over South Africa, it was former Springboks wing Habana who stepped up to the plate for a post-match interview with S4C. And he proceeded to show off his language skills, coming up with a couple of Welsh phrases in conversation with pitch-side presenter Lauren Jenkins.

The World Cup winner then switched to English to deliver his verdict on Wales’ first ever triumph against the ‘Boks on South African soil, reserving special praise for new openside flanker Tommy Reffell.

“You have got to hand it to Wales. To their credit, they never dropped the commitment or the fight and created history. They were able to count on their experience, with the likes of Alun Wyn Jones coming on the field. I thought the loose forward trio were phenomenal. Tommy Reffell was just in another league,” said Habana.

“South Africa didn’t use their opportunities. They were inaccurate. It’s back to the drawing board for Jacques Nienaber and his charges. History is there to be broken, it’s there to be made and credit to Wales on what they were able to do.”

At that point, Habana was joined by a jubilant Jamie Roberts who had just returned from the Wales dressing room with a bottle of beer in hand!
