Horror movie fans could get something they didn’t even know they wanted if Bryan Fuller gets his way. The Dust Bunny director wants Zendaya to star in a Silence of the Lambs limited series, and now we want that too! Let’s hope we all don’t get too obsessed with the idea… Fuller was up at Toronto International Film Festival this week to promote the new Mads Mikkelsen horror project.
Our friend Ash Crossan over at ScreenRant caught up with Fuller, and asked about Hannibal. As most fans of the show wonder, why weren’t there more seasons of that show? Well, if we can’t have more of the Mads and Fuller team-up that way, the director has a bright idea for how to make the whole Hannibal Lecter thing feel fresh. Just toss Zendaya into the mix as Clarice Starling and we’re cooking with gas now!
Fuller told ScreenRant, “My dream project is to do a limited series of Silence of the Lambs with Mads [Mikkelsen] and Zendaya as Clarice Starling. If I could put anything out into the universe, I would put that into the universe.”
Now, this is far from the first time that Fuller would get to play in this sandbox. Heck, it wouldn’t even be the first time that Mikkelsen and the director took on those iconic characters from Thomas Harris. But, the prospect of this kind of project coming to fruition would be instant must-watch stuff. With the current climate of trying to go back to the well in Hollywood, it could even be conceivable. Does anyone over at NBC know that this interview happened yet?
Would Zendaya make a good Clarice?

Well, I’m not going to doubt that woman on the Internet. Won’t get me to do it! Besides, after we all enjoyed Challengers last year, and wait an eternity for Euphoria to return, isn’t it nice to have something to daydream about in the meantime? There’s not even a Dune sequel to really talk about for a while, now that you mention it!
Zendaya has proven that she has more range than her Disney Channel past would indicate. She’s got The Drama coming up alongside Robert Pattinson and a date with her beau Tom Holland in The Odyssey. With that kind of dance card lined-up, it would be a minute before we saw here sitting across from Hannibal. But, put this idea on the backburner for a minute and let’s check-in on it a couple months from now.
Horror has been having a moment for the past few years, and that shows very little sign of slowing down now. Look for studios to lean into the genre even more heavily next year. If we’re going to see all of these different shops acting desperate, the least we can get in return is a well-executed project. So, whoever sees that interview, pick up the phone and call Fuller. Then, go ahead and call Zendaya’s agent. We’re all waiting!
