Bryan Cranston is one of a privileged few to be refreshingly honest about one of the main benefits his acting career has brought - money.
The Breaking Bad actor told the Hollywood Reporter his production company currently has 14 projects in the pipeline after his meteoric success in Breaking Bad.
He appeared on the Forbes Celebrity 100 Rich List for the first time this year, debuting at number 88, after turns in Godzilla and Broadway’s All the Way. But while many high profile figures would hesitate to discuss their wealth, Cranston was candid about his finances after wrapping up his stint as Walter White.
“I don’t want to appear smug, but I don’t need a job,” he said. “I’ve been really poor, foreclose-on-your-house poor. And I’ve been rich. Rich is better.”
Cranston came out with a more unusual comparison to describe the way famous people are treated by the public when asked how he felt about his post Walter White fame.
“Being [famous] is almost like being a pregnant woman,” he explained. “People think they can just put their hand on your belly and tell you, ‘Oh, you’re going to have a boy!’ It’s like having a complete stranger fondling you...And they have this sensibility where they feel comfortable coming up to you and saying, ‘You know that thing you did? I didn’t like that movie.’”
The 59-year-old made another surprising statement a few weeks ago when he voiced his admiration for Donald Trump and his "don’t give a s**t attitude”.
