Foul-tempered Gerard Tracey, 36, flipped out and attacked partner Michelle Donald by striking her with his head and then punched her on the face afterwards, during the horror domestic attack.

PAISLEY DAILY EXPRESS: Live news as it happens

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Tracey, formerly of the town’s Lismore Drive, but currently remanded in custody admitted assaulting his girlfriend when he appeared in the dock.

Fiscal depute Claire Rowan told the court: “The witness Ms Donald had moved into the Mr Tracey’s home.

“At 6pm on the day in question Ms Donald was in their bedroom watching TV.

“She said she was going to her sister’s house for a couple of
hours.

“The accused immediately became very angry and stated he did not wish her to go.

“Ms Donald got up from the bed and started to get ready.

“The accused then got up from the bed, walked towards her and head-butted her to the left side of her face.

“Ms Donald was shocked and frightened by this.”

The court heard Ms Donald phoned her sister to tell her about the attack.

“Her sister then called the police.

However when she began to pack up and leave Tracey’s house, he attacked her again.

The fiscal added: “She phoned her sister and told her what had happened. Her sister contacted police.

“She had made her way out of the locus.

“When she went back in and was beginning to pack her belongings, the accused walked towards her and punched her on the right cheek.”

The accused’s own mother shouted at him to leave the house, which he did before police showed up and took statements from the family about the attack.

Tracey admitted charges of assaulting his partner on January 20 by head-butting her and punching her.

He also admitted breach the terms of a previous Community Payback Order when he appeared before Sheriff Tom McCartney this week.

Defence agent Chris McKenna said his client was beset with severe health problems caused by a spinal injury dating from 2017.

He added that he and the complainer were hoping to continue their relationship.

He said: “The court will take a serious view of these matters to which he has pleaded guilty.

“He has a previous domestic conviction.

“He also admits breaching the order and his problems have been made worse by his misuse of illicit drugs.

“He was coming down from misusing drugs when he committed the latest
offence.”
