The murder of a man shot dead in Bettsytown is believed to be linked to the ongoing gang feud in Drogheda.
A 39-year-old man was killed in the horror shooting just before midnight on Monday.
The incident happened on Castlemartin Drive on Eastham Road in the Co Meath town.
The man was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he died at around 1am on Tuesday.

A small van was also found on fire a short distance from the scene of the shooting.
And it is now understood the victim was linked to the ongoing Drogheda gang feud, which claimed the life of Keith Branigan in Co Louth in August.
Local politician Senator Ged Nash told RTE Radio One: "My understanding is this individual had been involved with one of the gangs in Drogheda over the last period of time.
"It is just my understanding from speaking to garda sources that he may be involved on the same side that Mr Branigan may have been involved with."
The scene of the shooting has been sealed off as officers continue to investigate the brutal murder.

A garda spokesman said: "Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information to contact the incident room at Ashbourne Garda Station on 01-801 0600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station, they are particularly anxious to hear from road users with camera footage who were in the area at the time of shooting.
"The local Coroner has been notified.
"Further information will follow."
