Brutal attack leaves man in hospital with serious head injuries

A man is in hospital after being viciously beaten near a Scots high rise last night.

Police say his condition is 'stable' at Ninewells in Dundee after the brutal attack near Ancrum Court, in the Lochee area of the city.

The 34-year-old sustained serious head injuries after a disturbance near the Burnside Street building.

Cops are treating the incident as a serious assault.

Detective Constable Kieran Bradley, of Dundee CID, urged any witnesses to come forward or anyone with private CCTV in the area.

He said: “We are eager to speak to anyone who witnessed the disturbance on Saturday night. In particular we would like to hear from you if you have private CCTV footage showing anything that could help with our enquiries.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call Dundee CID via 101, quoting incident 5075 of Saturday, 3 April, 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
