Bruno Guimaraes hits the right note with message to Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer

Newcastle United’s new signing Bruno Guimaraes has earned more goodwill from the Geordie faithful by paying homage to Alan Shearer.

The Brazilian midfielder is hoping to make his debut for Newcastle United against Everton tomorrow night and was at St James’ Park today for some publicity ahead of the match.

This evening he tweeted out one of the resultant photographs which showed him in front of the East Stand holding his new black and white shirt with the number 39 on the back.

Along with the photo he tweeted: “New home. New challenge! Come on @NUFC.”

Former Newcastle number nine Shearer retweeted it with a comment: “Bruuuuunnnooooooo.”

To which Bruno replied: “Thank you boss.”

Fans appreciated the gesture, with @Alonosi tweeting: “Bruno just called Shearer boss. Give him the keys to the city.”

While @BobMistabob said: “Big Al just as excited like the rest of us.”
