Bruno Fernandes wears Marcus Rashford's number 10 shirt in Man Utd training

Bruno Fernandes wore the number 10 shirt while training with his Manchester United team-mates on Saturday.

But all those concerned Marcus Rashford has been stripped of the number to accommodate his team-mate need not worry.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer oversaw an XI vs XI friendly match between Manchester United players at Old Trafford on the weekend, ahead of the season resuming on June 19.

And to differentiate between the two sides, Solskjaer had one XI wear the club's iconic red home kit, while the other XI wore this season's beige away strip.

Presumably the idea was to get the squad in the mindset to play competitive fixtures once again, which is why bibs were binned and Old Trafford was picked as the setting for the kick-about.

But the club didn't go the whole hog to recreate a match-day experience.

Names were not printed on the back of shirts, and instead of each player wearing their correct number they simply wore a jersey sporting a random number between 1-11.

Fernandes was handed the number 10 shirt for the day, which belongs to Rashford, while Mason Greenwood wore the iconic number 7.

Man United's first game back is against Tottenham on June 19.

Solskjaer is hoping his side can finish in the top-four this campaign to secure Champions League football next season.

"We've been looking forward to these games for ages really," said Solskjaer. "It does make it feel like 'yes, we're here soon.'

"The first game is two weeks from today, so we need to step up the training and get an edge to our game again.

"Everyone knows that we will have to be at our best, and have to be focused against Tottenham. We know it's a big game for everyone.

"We had Chelsea when we started the league this season so I'm confident that our players can go into the Tottenham game with that mentality of going there to play a very good game of football."
