  • His record-matching 20th assist occurred during Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with Bryan Mbeumo scoring the goal.
  • This achievement places Fernandes alongside football legends Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, who previously held the joint record.
  • Fernandes said after the match that he was “very proud, very happy and very grateful” to equal the record , admitting that it had been playing on his mind.
  • He credited his teammates for their role in his success and stated his hope of setting a new record with a 21st assist in next Sunday’s final match of the season against Brighton.
