Bruno Fernandes trolls Fred after Manchester United winner against Crystal Palace

Fred’s team-mates are taking great pleasure in trolling the midfielder following his winner for Manchester United against Crystal Palace.

The Brazilian scored the only goal at Old Trafford as United got life under Ralf Rangnick off to the perfect start with a 1-0 win.

Having been held for over 75 minutes, the hosts finally struck when Fred superbly curled the ball home from the edge of the box, having received Mason Greenwood’s lay-off.

Not only did the identity of the first goalscorer in the Rangnick reign take most by surprise, but it was the manner in which he did it that came as a shock, with the midfielder taking the chance on his less-favoured right foot.

And that gave his team-mates plenty of ammo with which to take the mickey out of him, with Bruno Fernandes questioning whether he actually meant the shot.

Fernandes posted a picture of himself laughing with Alex Telles and Fred on Instagram after the game, along with the caption: “Me: that was supposed to be a cross, right? Alex: 100%. Fred: guys, have some respect for my right foot.”

The Portuguese did give his team-mate some credit though, ending the post with: “Fredinhoooo.”

He wasn’t the only United player left surprised by Fred’s finish though, with Diogo Dalot also joking about his team-mate’s ability with the right foot.

Nevertheless, the goal proved to be a hugely important one as it gave Rangnick a win in his first game as interim manager, having joined on six-month coaching contract.

The result also continued the mini-resurgence United enjoyed under temporary boss Michael Carrick, who left the club after picking up two wins and a draw from his three games in charge.

Rangnick will be aiming to continue the upturn in form as Young Boys make the trip to Old Trafford on Wednesday night for their final group game in the Champions League, with United then heading to Norwich City on Saturday.
