Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes will definitely leave Sporting Lisbon either in January or during the summer transfer window, according to his agent Jorge Mendes.
Fernandes is United’s priority target this month, but Standard Sport understands both clubs remain ‘miles apart’ over the midfielder’s valuation.
Sporting want £55m plus add-ons, while United value him closer to £40m, with negotiations set to continue over the coming days.
Mendes is sure the Portugal international will not be playing at the Primera Liga club next season and told Sky Sports News: "If he (Fernandes) will not leave now he will leave for sure in the summer because Sporting, they have spoken already with other clubs and something will happen."
Mendes, who was was attending a conference of agents at the Hive Stadium - home of Vanarama National League side Barnet - added: "I'm not sure if (it will happen) now or the end of the season."
