Bruno Fernandes thoughts about playing alongside Paul Pogba as he's named on bench

Bruno Fernandes says both he and Paul Pogba are eager to play alongside each other and win matches for Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named Fernandes in his starting XI to take on Tottenham in north London this Friday.

Pogba, meanwhile, has been named on the bench in his first match back since Boxing Day, after he suffered a serious ankle injury.

The World Cup winner may get the opportunity to come off the bench for the Red Devils, but for the time being Solskjaer will be relying on Fernandes, Fred and Scott McTominay to do a job for him in midfield.

Fernandes was asked about the prospect of playing alongside Pogba before Solskjaer's United team to face Spurs was announced.

He told ESPN Brasil: "There are many people eager to see us together. Of course, we also want to play together to help the club win matches.

"We are players who take risks.

"We try to assist, we try different things, and it can be good for both of us. We have the ability to get to the box and score goals.

"We are players who create many opportunities during the game, and that could increase the number of big chances for Manchester United. I believe that with Paul coming along, we will become even stronger."
