Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes has made no secret of his close friendship with highly-rated Sporting defender Nuno Mendes amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the teenager.
The 18-year-old is tipped for a lucrative exit from the Portuguese side this summer, with fees of around £60m being bandied around.
Intriguingly, Fernandes and Mendes share the same agent, Miguel Pinho, who was reportedly in attendance for United 's midweek draw against Fulham.
United have been tentatively linked with Mendes but are not in the market for a new left-back, with Alex Telles currently providing back-up for Luke Shaw. City, meanwhile, have been strongly linked with Mendes.
Following the announcement of Portugal's squad for the European Championship this summer Fernandes shared an image on social media of the pair on a FaceTime call to each other.
Mendes has made three appearances for Portugal since making his international debut this year and is part of an exciting squad for the rearranged Euros.
