Bruno Fernandes sets himself Manchester United challenge after Everton draw

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes says he needs to improve his shooting despite scoring in his side's draw with Everton in the Premier League.

Portuguese midfielder Fernandes netted his third goal for the club since his move from Sporting Lisbon last month when he struck from distance in the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

Fernandes cancelled out Dominic Calvert-Lewin's opening goal when he drilled an effort past Jordan Pickford from distance in the first-half.

The goal marked Fernandes' first from open play for his new club however there were questions over Pickford's attempt at keeping the ball out of the net.

United's midfield signing continued to test Pickford with a number of wayward efforts later in the match, and he admits he needs to continue to work on his shooting from distance.

"It was a shot. I am happy the ball goes in, it doesn't matter how it goes in, the important thing is the goal," Fernandes told MUTV.

"In the second-half we created a lot of chances and the last minutes we had some chance to score and the last one with Ighalo if he scores there now we are talking about a different situation.

"Also I had some shots outside of the box and I can do much better, but obviously the game goes like this, and we need to focus on the game against Derby.

"You are never happy when you don't win a game but obviously the game was really difficult and I think one point can be good, but three points would be much better."
