Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes is getting a boost to his pay packet as he is set to double his wages at the club.
The negotiation for higher pay is understood to be taking place just before the Euros kick off in June.
However, there's a short window of time that the meeting can take place as there are just five days between United's Europa League final against Villarreal on May 26 and Fernandes heading off on international duty.
If the deal can be done it's believed the club are prepared to offer the star £200,000-a-week and it's clear to see why.
The Portuguese star is the club's top scorer after slotting 26 goals and creating 17 assists over 53 appearances in all competitions this season.
While Fernandes does have four years left on his United contract, the star's form and influence at the club means he wants to know more about the club's future.
According to The Sun he also wants the club to sign a centre-back to partner Harry Maguire so he can concentrate on the business end of the game.
Fernandes moved to United in 2020 on a five-year deal worth £50.8 million and he is the clubs' seventh most expensive signing ever.
And while he wants to side to sign a defender, the majority of reports have suggested United are more interested in offensive players, with Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho the top of their list.
In the meantime, United and Fernandes will be focusing on finishing the season strongly, with their next game a Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Sunday.
