Bruno Fernandes looks set to be rewarded for his outstanding contributions in a Manchester United shirt with a bumper new contract.
The Portuguese midfielder has made a huge impact at Old Trafford since his transfer from Sporting Lisbon just over a year ago and is now poised to double his salary.
Fernandes is already on a package including a basic wage of £100,000 per week, but that pales in comparison to the likes of the club's top earners David de Gea and Paul Pogba, who are on around three times that.
United are now keen to bring Fernandes' paycheck in line with his teammates in light of his standing as the club's leading star.
According to The Sun, the 26-year-old will be offered a new contract worth £200,000 per week, with a number of bonuses and incentives included to sweeten the deal.
As things stand, Fernandes is way down the list of top earners.
His new salary will see him earn parity with Marcus Rashford, though will still only rank joint-fifth for income in the team.
De Gea is still far and away the highest earner on a mammoth £375k per week, ahead of Pogba on £290k.
Behind them comes Anthony Martial on £250k and Edinson Cavani on £210k.
But Fernandes' new deal will see him leapfrog captain Harry Maguire.
He still has another four-and-a-half years left to run on his contract, with the option of a further year, so this agreement is likely to just involve a straight pay rise.
Despite Fernandes' importance to United, his form has dipped in recent weeks as he has been unable to help United thwart their mini slump.
United have won just three times since topping the table in January and drew again on Wednesday in a goalless draw with Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, ex-United star Lee Sharpe has questioned whether Fernandes is having as big of an impact as has been made out.

"Over the last few months I'm not really sure you could say Bruno Fernandes has performed in the big games," Sharpe told Ladbrokes at its launch of the 5-A-Side Bet on the Manchester Derby.
"I know everyone is raving about him and I'll probably get s****ed off for it but I'm still not quite sure about Bruno.
"He did come in and set the world alight but since then - apart from penalties - he's not really done anything.
"For me, he seems to give the ball away far too cheaply and he's not getting as involved as I'd like.
"Whether it's down to where the manager is playing him or Ole's instructions on what he wants him to do, he just doesn't seem to be getting involved anywhere near as much as he used to."
