Bruno Fernandes sends Paul Pogba message as duo prepare to start together for first time

Bruno Fernandes has told Paul Pogba they need to work on improving their celebrations as they prepare to start alongside each other for the first time.

The Portuguese midfielder headed to Old Trafford in January and has received glowing reviews since.

It even led to some suggesting Pogba should be moved on at Manchester United due to Fernandes' swift impact.

But, after the Frenchman's cameo at Tottenham on Friday night, the pair are set to start in tandem against Sheffield United.

Pogba is known for his flamboyant personality, often showing off preempted celebrations with team-mates.

And ahead of Wednesday night's clash Fernandes tweeted a picture of the pair saying: "We’ve got to work on a cooler celebration mates."

The 25-year-old scored United's equaliser in north London on Friday night.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is positive about the chances of the duo performing in the same starting XI.

"It is a definite partnership that we want to build on," he told the BBC. "They have trained together now they have had half an hour on the pitch together.

"We want the best players on the pitch of course and want to find a balance in the team."

Pogba has been doubted by some with inconsistencies defining his second spell at Old Trafford.

But he was excellent for half an hour against Tottenham and former Red Devil Patrice Evra said there was no way United were better off without their record signing.

"I talk with Paul often, he just couldn’t wait, he was like a baby. He wanted to play football," he told Sky Sports.

"I think this was really important for Paul because he didn’t have an easy start. Especially when Bruno Fernandes joined the team people started saying, 'oh, we don’t need Paul any more.'

"United need Paul. People have to stop saying, “We don’t need Paul”. United need Paul Pogba."
