Bruno Fernandes sends cryptic tweet amid Manchester United transfer interest

When Manchester United's team selection against Wolves was announced on Wednesday night, many of the replies to the club's tweet were asking why Bruno Fernandes was not among the starting XI.

United are looking into signing Fernandes following injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay and are exploring the possibility of acquiring him in the January transfer window.

The Portuguese international would be an extremely popular signing if he did join United, and as fans were sending their tongue-in-cheek tweets to the club before the FA Cup replay with Wolves, Fernandes himself was also tweeting.

Fernandes has been pictured in Sporting training every day this week as they prepare for their clash with Primeira Liga leaders Benfica on Friday night.

And his tweet was an image of himself juggling a ball on his head with the 'eyes' emoji as the only caption.

Needless to say, the replies to the tweet were quickly filled with United fans urging him to move to the club. Earlier this week, Fernandes tweeted an image of himself in action for Sporting with two emojis - a fist and a monkey with hands over the ears.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about the interest in Fernandes before the Wolves fixture, but he refused to provide any update.

"I've got no transfer updates, so no," Solskjaer said. "If we get something that we can tell you about we will, but I've got no news now."
