Bruno Fernandes sends blunt message to Man Utd team-mates after Champions League exit

Bruno Fernandes has broken his silence to warn his Manchester United team-mates they were "not good enough" in their Champions League defeat by RB Leipzig.

Manchester United were on course to progress from Group H after early victories over Paris Saint-Germain and Leipzig, but three defeats in their following four matches saw the journey come to an end in Germany on Tuesday.

Portugal international Fernandes kept quiet immediately after the match, but has now broken his silence on social media.

"Not good enough from us," Fernandes wrote, alongside a picture of himself looking dejected. "We have to do much better to represent a such big club and specially playing in the Champions League with big teams!"

Manchester United take on Man City this weekend looking to bounce back with a victory.

And boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who knows he is under pressure to start getting results, says he's keen to take on Pep Guardiola's men.

"Of course, it's a flat dressing room, then again, the next game is Man City on Saturday," said the Manchester United boss.

"So we have to pick ourselves up. We, as coaches, need to pick ourselves up and that's the name of this game, the nature of this game. This becomes history very quickly and we have to look forward to what we can do about the next one."

Man City were in action on Wednesday night against Marseille in the Champions League.

Guardiola's Citizens ran out 3-0 winners over the Ligue 1 outfit, with returning striker Sergio Aguero getting himself on the scoresheet after coming back from injury.
