Bruno Fernandes has revealed he'd love to manage Manchester United after hanging up his boots.
The 26-year-old has proved sensational since joining United in January 2020 for £47m, adding another dimension to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side on the pitch while also playing a prominent role in the dressing room at Old Trafford.
Fernandes boasts 24 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for the Reds this season, and while he leads by example with his consistently strong performances, the Portugal man is also known to shoulder the burden of a leadership position among players.
Always demanding more of his teammates, Fernandes encapsulates everything a United player should strive towards becoming, clearly possessing the winning mentality that is required to win silverware.
It's perhaps therefore not surprising that Fernandes has revealed a desire to move into management after he retires, and while it will be many years until he hangs up his boots, it's already thought by some he could become a top coach.
“I’m trying to enjoy the football, you know. I think I want to be a coach. Honestly, I would like to be a coach," Fernandes explained to United media. “I don’t know which team I would like to manage.
"Of course, the biggest team if I can manage Manchester United, I will be happy. I can leave now just some words so if people see this, if I’m a manager in the future, the fans can make some pressure to bring me as a coach!
“But I think I would like to be a coach in the future. I’m not sure but for what I feel for football, for the feeling I have, I think I have to continue to be inside of football because my whole life is about this. So I think, in the future, it needs to be with football too."
