Bruno Fernandes responds to Marcus Rashford tweet welcoming him to Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes has responded to Marcus Rashford's welcome tweet after Manchester United and Sporting agreed a deal to bring the Portuguese international to Old Trafford.

United have finally agreed a deal for Fernandes after weeks of speculation, with the club paying an initial €55m (£46.5m) subject to passing a medical and agreeing personal terms before the transfer deadline on Friday.

When the transfer was announced, United's Portugese full-back Diogo Dalot quoted the club's tweet of the news with a wink face and Portugal flag in appreciation of the new signing.

United striker Marcus Rashford also replied to the tweet saying 'Welcome Bruno'.

Fernandes is flying to Manchester on Wednesday night ahead of a medical on Thursday, and his agent posted a picture with United's newest signing from their private jet.

And after what is sure to have been a hectic day for Fernandes, he appears to be replying to various messages - including the one from new teammate Rashford.

Fernandes liked Rashford's tweet - the first time he has 'liked' something on the social media platform since April 2019.

Rashford is currently injured, so is not preparing for United's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Manchester City.
