Bruno Fernandes responds to Manchester United legends Roy Keane and Gary Neville

Bruno Fernandes has admitted it is flattering to receive praise from Manchester United legends like Roy Keane and Gary Neville.

The new man at United says he already has his sights set on becoming 'one of the best' at the club after making a near-perfect start, helping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side go 11 games unbeaten.

Nine of those games have featured Fernandes, with the January signing scoring three goals and laying on four assists in just eight starts for his new club.

His impact since signing from Sporting Lisbon in January has prompted plaudits from Sky Sports pundits - and United all-time greats Gary Neville and Roy Keane - and Fernandes was asked about the praise in an interview.

"It's so nice to hear these kind of words from legends," said Fernandes, who was asked specifically about Neville. The former United right-back had lauded Fernandes for his determination to win the ball back.

Fernandes replied: "When I react when I lose the ball I am angry, every time I want more. I think this is the difference between me and some players. If you want to be better and better and be one of the best, you need to look for the ball.

"When in the team you have one, two or three players who have that desire, you push the others."

Keane has also been effusive with his recognition of Fernandes' impact for Solskjaer.

And the Portuguese international admitted he would love to emulate a player like Keane at Old Trafford in the coming years.

"These are big words from a big player," he added. "This is what I want to do in Manchester. I want to be the best I can and if it's possible I want to be remembered like one of the best in Manchester."
