Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes is reportedly refusing to put pen to paper on a new five-year contract unless he is given assurances about the club's future transfer plans.
Fernandes has cemented himself as one of United's most important players since joining from Sporting Lisbon in January 2019, scoring 35 goals and providing 21 assists in 63 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old signed a five-and-a-half year deal worth £100,000-a-week when he joined United and, according to a report from the Sun, Fernandes has been offered a new five-year contract which would see his wages increase to £200,000-a-week.
However, the report claims that Fernandes wants to know how the club plans to continue making progress before he commits.
The Portuguese international recently helped United defeat rivals Manchester City, ending their 21 game winning streak.
Fernandes scored from the penalty spot in the second minute after Anthony Martial was fouled by Gabriel Jesus.
Speaking after the 2-0 victory, Fernandes told MUTV: "Every penalty has the same pressure for me.
"It's always pressure to take a pen, doesn't matter if it's against City, or another team. It's always pressure to take the pens.
"I like that kind of pressure. It's good pressure. I knew what I had to do. I did it in the right way with the right power and I'm happy to score, of course. Honestly for us it's about winning.
"People will always complain about everything. Today it will still be Bruno never scores in big games.
"They will put open play no goals, it was a penalty [and say] it doesn't count! So for us the most important thing is winning the game.
"It doesn't matter how you score, when the ball touches the net it's a goal. I will be happy and it doesn't matter if it's me or another one scoring."
