Bruno Fernandes reacts to his new Manchester United chant

Bruno Fernandes admitted he is loving the support he's received from Manchester United fans since signing for the club in January - especially his chant.

United paid Sporting Lisbon an initial £47million for Fernandes in the mid-season transfer window and the Portuguese playmaker is already paying off a chunk of that fee. He has three goals and four assists in nine United appearances so far and has been the catalyst for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side going on an 11-game unbeaten run.

Competitive action in the Premier League, FA Cup and European competition is currently postponed as Europe comes to terms with the coronavirus outbreak and how to combat its spread.

But United are scheduled to return on April 4th away at Brighton with Fernandes - who spoke about his start at Old Trafford to Sky Sports - striking up a great relationship with his new fans.

"It's a big change coming from another country to a big club with big players," he said. "When I have the chance to come, I didn't think twice."

Fernandes' chant mentions the 25-year-old's footballing idol Cristiando Ronaldo, with the former United favourite - now at Juventus - taking a similar path to Old Trafford from Sporting.

"Ronaldo is an inspiration for me," added Fernandes. "You start watching Ronaldo and then you start to watch the team and you see this kind of team can win everything, you dream to be here.

Sky presenter Laura Woods then asked Fernandes about the chant United fans had made up for him - and even asked if could sing the song.

Fernandes laughed and replied: "Bruno, Bruno, Bruno, he came from Sporting like Cristiano, he goes left, he goes right, makes defenders look sh*te, he's our Portuguese magnifico!"

He added on the chant: "The support I've received from the fans since the first day is amazing. I listened to the song they do for me and I'm like 'two days I'm here and I already have the song'.

"The love they give me in this first month is really good."
