Bruno Fernandes struggles to understand what Cristiano Ronaldo is saying due to his Portuguese dialect.
That's according to the Manchester United midfielder, who claims: "Portuguese people cannot understand what they [people from Madiera] say."
Fernandes made the unusual admission in a recent episode of KFC UK and Ireland's "Wingmen" show.

Speaking to Jesse Lingard, Fernandes said: "I like the way you talk because in Portugal it's the same. Some words in Portugal, if you ask Cristiano he will say me and Diogo [Dalot] we speak in a different way to him."
He added: "His original way is one of the worst Portuguese ways. Cristiano, from Madeira, oh my god, you swear Portuguese people cannot understand what they say."

Fernandes does have a good relationship with Ronaldo on the pitch, despite their apparent communication problems.
Fernandes previously told NBC Sports: "Everyone knows what Cristiano Ronaldo brought for the club and we are really happy to have him. The most important thing, as he will say, is the team. Good players can always play well together."
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer backed this up, saying: "Good players can always play together. They have mutual respect and play for Portugal together. It's changed [the atmosphere].

But Fernandes and Ronaldo's positive relationship couldn't help United on Sunday as bitter rivals Liverpool embarrassed them at Old Trafford, running out 5-0 winners.
Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick in the rout as Naby Keita and Diogo Jota also got in on the action.

Solskjaer said of the defeat: "It's not easy to say something apart from it's the darkest day I've had leading these players and we weren't good enough, individually and as a team.
"You can't give a team like Liverpool those chances, unfortunately, we did.
"The whole performance wasn't good enough, that's for sure. We've created openings, they've had chances and they've been clinical. We didn't take our chances early on and the third goal is the one that decided the game."
