Bruno Fernandes says Manchester United paid the price for their own reaction to Scott McTominay's goal against Everton.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side dropped points again over the weekend after they squandered two leads and were were held to a 3-3 draw at Old Trafford.
United threw away a two-nil lead shortly after half-time before a goal from McTominay in the 70th minute was eventually cancelled out by Dominic Calvert-Lewin deep into stoppage time.
Solskjaer insisted United had actually played better in the second-half of the match, but Fernandes was in no mood to agree with his manager after such a disappointing result.
Speaking after the draw the Portuguese midfielder rued United's defensive work and the mistakes they made by granting Everton an unlikely path back into the game.
“I wish we had played a little bit worse in the second-half and maybe don’t concede the goals and score more,” Fernandes told MUTV.
“For me, it doesn’t matter how we play, we have to win the games, we have to understand the moments. In the second half when we scored the third goal we have to understand that we have to not give away nothing, not to give them chances and to keep trying to score and press them.
“We don’t do that and unfortunately we concede the goal in the last few seconds.”
