Bruno Fernandes piles pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Mauricio Pochettino 'contacted'

Bruno Fernandes has piled pressure on boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with his frank assessment on where things are going wrong at Manchester United.

United were beaten 2-1 by Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League on Wednesday night, just days after losing at home to Arsenal.

According to the MEN, the Red Devils have since sounded out former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino over replacing Solskjaer at the helm.

And Fernandes' angry response to United's defeat in Europe has only added to the pressure on Solskjaer to quickly turn things around at Old Trafford.

Fernandes said: "In the league we are not in a good position - we all know that.

"We need to do much better, and we need to do something more than say 'Do something in the next game', because it will be a difficult game for us.

"Our focus now needs to be already there."

On the Champions League defeat, he added: "Everything went wrong, we did everything wrong.

"The intensity was not good from the beginning of the game and we can do much better, everyone feels that.

"We know we can't concede goals like that, but now it's time to look at what we did wrong, to make it better in the next game."
