Bruno Fernandes names his Manchester United unsung hero

Bruno Fernandes says Eric Bailly was his Man of the Match for his impressive performance against Wolves on Tuesday night.

The Ivorian shone alongside Harry Maguire for Manchester United in the heart of defence during their 1-0 win against Nuno Espirito Santo's side at Old Trafford.

Bailly was chosen at centre-back in the absence of the injured Victor Lindelof - marking the first time he has started three successive games for United since March 2018.

The 26-year-old displayed great mobility in defence and proved to be the perfect complement to the more robust and no-nonsense approach adopted by captain Maguire.

Bailly finished the game with a 100 per cent tackle success rate, 94 per cent passing accuracy, 11 ball recoveries and an impressive four interceptions as he showcased his true worth in defence.

Taking to social media after the match the Ivory Coast international posted a picture from the Wolves win along with the caption: "A clean sheet and a victory. Good way to end a year to forget. We are coming for you, 2021."

United talisman Fernandes commented on the post saying: "My man of the match," followed by a love heart emoji while teammate Juan Mata added: "Y el mio" which translates as "and mine."
