Bruno Fernandes makes Man City and Liverpool FC comparison

Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes says he prefers Liverpool's style of play to Manchester City's.

The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to either Manchester United or City this summer after a fine season in the Primeira Liga. Fernandes overachieved from his position to score 28 goals and produce 14 assists in all competitions this campaign.

Despite the rumours surrounding Fernandes to City, club sources have once again reiterated they have no interest in signing the midfielder. Which is just as well as the Sporting star seems to have taken a liking to Liverpool.

While Fernandes praised City - and Pep Guardiola individually - for their style of play, the 11-times capped Portugal star couldn't hide his admiration for Jurgen Klopp's side.

"Guardiola has made the best of the players in the team, he knew that it was going to be difficult in England and he adapted," he wrote in his blog, 'De Cadeirinha', via Portuguese publication Record ."It's a City that plays, more or less, in the way of Barcelona, but not just because the championship is different, the intensity is different, the aggressiveness is different, the competition is different and he knew how to change it."

"City, without the ball, has the intensity of the eleven, can in a moment of pressure to put the [opposing] team in a corner, in block, and ends up stealing the ball.

"I like Liverpool a lot more, it's a more direct, more offensive, maybe less organized, but more intense football, when you do not have the ball possession you are more intense."

Fernandes explained his statement by adding: "In Liverpool they are more individual players, especially in the midfield, usually playing three very aggressive players and recovering the ball, then they have three players at the front who are lethal, when they have the opportunity, the difference, as seen in this last game."
