Bruno Fernandes lifts lid on 'unhappy' Man Utd dressing room after Leicester clash

Bruno Fernandes has explained why the Manchester United dressing room was “unhappy” after they were held to a draw by Leicester on Boxing Day.

The Red Devils led twice at the King Power Stadium but the Foxes pegged them back on both occasions to keep themselves well in the title race.

The draw ended United’s chances of a record-equalling 11th consecutive away win in the Premier League.

And Fernandes insists that only picking up one point instead of three had left the dressing room very disappointed.

He told BT Sport: “I was really happy when I got in the dressing room and I saw everyone disappointed and saying the things we had to do better.

“You are creating a winning mentality and we are not happy with this point."

United and Leicester created a similar amount of chances, and Fernandes admits that they showed their title credentials on Saturday.

But the Portuguese says that having led the game with just five minutes left to play, United should have walked away victorious.

"We are frustrated, we know we had the chance to get there points, it was important for us because we want to win all the games," Fernandes added.

"They have a good team, but we had the chances to win the game and be more than 2-1 at 85 minutes.

“At that score we can concede a goal, we are disappointed but we have no time to be disappointed as we play again in three days, we have to be frustrated and we have to do much better in three days.

"They’re a really good team, we know they defend well, they don’t give a lot of space to play. We missed chances to score, or the last pass wasn’t good enough."
